PROPERTY DESCRIPTION
AN EXTRAORDINARY PRIVATE WORLD IN THE YUCATÁN COUNTRYSIDE
This remarkable property is much more than a restored historic hacienda. Spread across 193 hectares (477 acres) of private land near Izamal, it is an entire estate environment where architecture, gardens, residential comfort, hospitality, and nature come together on a remarkable scale.
Approaching the developed heart of the property, visitors encounter a carefully composed landscape of tree-lined avenues, colorful hacienda buildings, traditional stonework, tropical gardens, and individual residences. Red and ochre-colored facades, elegant arcades, historic masonry, and decorative architectural details give the estate a distinctive identity rooted in Yucatán’s past.
The main hacienda forms the social and architectural centerpiece. Generous living and dining areas, lounges, a games room, bar, and expansive covered terraces create inviting spaces for everyday enjoyment and entertaining. Traditional wooden beams, antique furnishings, carefully selected artwork, and architectural elements sourced from Europe complement the restored historic structures.
PRIVATE RESIDENCES & REFINED HOSPITALITY
Distributed throughout the landscaped grounds are 18 fully equipped guest suites, each designed to provide privacy and residential comfort. Spacious bedrooms, separate living areas, elegant bathrooms, and garden-facing spaces create an atmosphere more reminiscent of individual private residences than conventional hotel rooms.
An additional three-bedroom villa offers an independent residential environment with generous living spaces, a private swimming pool, fitness facilities, and a hammam.
Together, these accommodations allow the estate to welcome extended family, private guests, or hospitality visitors while maintaining the independence and tranquility of individual living spaces.
WATER, WELLNESS & RECREATION
One of the estate’s defining features is its extensive water and wellness environment. The central swimming pool unfolds across three interconnected levels, incorporating a dedicated swimming lane, decorative fountains, stone terraces, and a wooden bridge connecting the pool area with the spa and bar.
Nearby, a Maya-inspired wellness complex offers private treatment rooms, hammams, and fitness facilities. Traditional thatched-roof structures and tropical landscaping give the spa village a distinctive regional character.
Another remarkable natural feature is the estate’s private underground cenote. Accessible by constructed stairs leading down to the water, this secluded natural formation adds a dimension rarely encountered within a fully developed private estate.
Ornamental lagoons, water features, shaded pathways, and landscaped gardens provide additional places for relaxation throughout the grounds.
HOSPITALITY, ENTERTAINING & CELEBRATIONS
The estate’s extensive hospitality infrastructure makes it equally suited to private entertaining and organized events.
A professional restaurant kitchen, spacious dining areas, covered terraces, and outdoor reception spaces provide the facilities needed to accommodate gatherings of different sizes.
The beautifully restored private chapel, adorned with antique religious sculptures and furnishings sourced from France, offers an intimate setting for ceremonies and celebrations.
The estate’s existing event infrastructure has been designed to accommodate receptions and celebrations for approximately 200–300 guests.
LAND, AGRICULTURE & HISTORIC HERITAGE
Beyond its residential and recreational areas, the property retains a strong connection to Yucatán’s agricultural traditions. Approximately 750 fruit trees, 250 olive trees, vegetable gardens, and established beekeeping facilities form part of its productive landscape. Extensive ornamental planting, mature trees, and natural vegetation complement the cultivated areas.
The estate’s historical identity remains equally important. Originally established as an agricultural and cattle property, it developed into a successful henequen hacienda during the 19th century. Surviving historic buildings, industrial ruins, and three chimneys recall this period of Yucatán’s economic and architectural history.
Today, these historic elements coexist with extensive modern infrastructure, creating a property that combines cultural significance with contemporary functionality.
A LEGACY ESTATE OF REMARKABLE SCALE
Few properties bring together such a substantial landholding, extensive residential accommodation, established hospitality facilities, historic architecture, recreational amenities, and productive agricultural grounds within one private estate.
Whether envisioned as an extraordinary family residence, a private retreat, or a continued luxury hospitality destination, this estate offers the opportunity to acquire and preserve a distinctive part of Yucatán’s architectural and cultural heritage.

HISTORY & ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE
FROM AN 18TH-CENTURY AGRICULTURAL ESTATE TO A LANDMARK HACIENDA
The history of this remarkable estate reaches back to the 18th century, when the property formed part of Yucatán’s traditional agricultural landscape.
Historical records identify the estate as early as 1785. Originally established as a corn-producing and cattle-raising property, it gradually transitioned toward henequen cultivation during the 19th century, as the fiber industry became increasingly important to Yucatán’s economy.
By approximately 1850, henequen production was expanding across the region, transforming traditional agricultural estates into the large plantations that would eventually define much of Yucatán’s economic and architectural history.
THE MOLINA FAMILY & THE HENEQUEN ERA
By the beginning of the 20th century, the hacienda belonged to the brothers Trinidad and Olegario Molina Solís. Olegario Molina was among the most influential political and business figures of his time, serving as governor of Yucatán during the early 1900s. The estate’s association with the Molina family remains an important part of its historical identity.
The hacienda also reflects a lesser-known chapter of Yucatán’s history: the arrival of Korean workers in 1905. Historical accounts indicate that approximately 150 Korean workers were living and working at the estate by 1910, within the labor system of the henequen industry.
Like many haciendas of the period, the property issued its own tokens, known as fichas de hacienda. These were used to compensate workers and could be exchanged for goods within the estate’s company-store system. Tokens bearing the initials of the Molina brothers were reportedly discovered during the property’s restoration.
PRESERVING THE PAST, CREATING A NEW FUTURE
The surviving architecture reflects the estate’s evolution over more than two centuries. Historic buildings, substantial masonry structures, traditional rooflines, industrial ruins, and three surviving chimneys provide tangible connections to its working past.
An extensive restoration and redevelopment program, carried out over approximately nine years, transformed the property into a comprehensive residential and hospitality estate. Historic structures were restored, while additional buildings were developed to complement the traditional architectural language.
The result is an ensemble in which Yucatecan hacienda architecture, carefully selected furnishings, landscaped gardens, and contemporary infrastructure coexist within a unified estate environment.
