This house is truly special! Inspired by the design of the famous Mexican architect Ricardo Lagoretta combines this house original colonial components, like the appealing façade and the entrance area, with the clean and minimalistic style of the completely newly created house behind the façade.

Once you have entered through the heavy wooden door, you are fascinated by the unusual and different atmosphere of the house. The big skylight in the middle of the hallway distributes the sunlight into the smallest corner. The colorful pictures, as well as the tasteful decoration, stand in clear contrast to the walls in cement finish. It is this cement finish that leaves a lot of room for interpretation for the residents of this house. Some might be reminded of the old Italian houses in cities like Florence or Sienna, some just appreciate the simplicity and straightforwardness of the design.

The house offers three spacious bedrooms, one downstairs two upstairs. Every bedroom comes with its own special bathroom and closets, two of them even with a walk-in closet. A further big room upstairs can easily work as a fourth bedroom or as an office or family room. It is accessible either through the master bedroom or via stairs directly from the garden.

One last word about the overall condition of the house. It is without a doubt excellent! Apart from the fact that the house is nearly new, the owners paid great attention even to the smallest details during the construction and they also took great care of it afterward.

LOCATION

La Ermita is one of Merida’s oldest, colorful, and original neighborhoods in the heart of its historical center. The church and the park next to it are worth seeing highlights of the area and very popular amongst locals, ex-pats, and tourists. But the area is not only nice and full of history, but it is also well taken care of. You won’t see any electricity poles because the cables are laid underground. Everything is clean and most of the houses are in really good shape.
